Bookshelf. Furniture design.
The bookshelf is a modular system compiled of single identical boxes. The proportions of each box are designed so that two long sides equal three short sides. This allows them to be stacked vertically or horizontally to accommodate books of various sizes. The depth is sufficient to store and access books from both sides enabling the unit to function as a room divider. This concept originated from its placement within the opening of an unused doorway.
